Anna-Red-Llama It's not that you don't HAVE to do that with other banks, you simply CAN'T. if a Direct Debit comes in, you have 5 days to either accept or decline it. When you are with those "other" banks, you have zero chance to decline a fraudulent DD before money is taken out of your account.
Sure you can have your bank charge that money back, but it costs time and effort. I don't know about you, but I don't want to waste neither of that.
Also it's not just "some" people who want that kind of control, I'm pretty sure the majority of bunq users chose bunq just because of that. It's one of bunq's great advantages that you HAVE so much control about your money.
To be totally honest, to me it sounds like bunq is not for you. If you don't care that companies take money out of your account, real-time push notifications and having control over your accounts and money "bother" you, then you should indeed use one of those "other" banks you mentioned.
bunq works the way it works and people love it for that. With our usage pattern, you are definitely representing a very small part of bunq's users.
