John Do That’s correct, so I’m sure you’ll agree with me that it’s odd I would be charged a one-time fee of €9 even though I have only two active cards and the app states my membership includes one additional card.

Emile do you perhaps have a deactivated card around? You can order 3 cards for free, when you deactivate one it does not mean that you can circumvent the production costs.

Das ist korrekt. :-) Die Deutsche Bahn stellt ihre Bordbistros wohl irgendwann um -- es sollen dort dann auch Debitkarten funktionieren. Aber zur Zeit fährt man mit "Credit" bei der Deutschen Bahn besser. (Pun intended)

Mark When they scan or tap this card it will be recognised as a Credit Card.

I think if the official bunq announcement contained this it would be clear for everyone.

Mark Great explanation, thanks! Never understood that the bunq MasterCard was not seen as a normal credit card. So the travel card is what the MasterCard should have been all along

Sander Hi Sander, thanks for clarifying. That does indeed appear to be the cause. It does make sense, but I think the app’s UX is rather confusing at this point then 🙂

Ioana You need to update your app via the App Store/Play Store first to see/order the card in the app.

Gabriel have you tried refreshing updates in the App Store, I had to pull down the updates screen on my phone before my phone noticed that there was an update for the bunq app. I'm on version 10.12.0 (build 686), are you on the same version? You can verify in the Profile section by dragging down the screen contents, when you pull down it will reveal the version.

The idea is good, but this is where I think the idea fails:
If BUNQ is proposing this to be used as a "travel card", it makes no sense to charge a fee every month. It should be charged only when being used. Secondly, this is completely redundant if you already have a mastercard credit card (in my case). The FAQ does not cover this simple question:
"What is the difference between this travel card, and a regular bunq master card (not Maestro) for which you may already have and being charged for?"

Humphrey’s Café dat ligt waarschijnlijk meer aan het type kaart dan het land van afgifte; Maestro wordt in het buitenland veel minder geaccepteerd. Zover ik weet zou er met deze credit Mastercard eigenlijk niets meer in de weg mogen staan. 👍😁

Werkt de kaart ook bij de Spaanse tolwegen? Daar werkt bijna geen enkele Nederlandse pas naar mijn idee 😒
