Hello,
at the moment I am using bunq both for my private and business banking. The latter is a business account I am happy to pay for. I am also considering to upgrade my private account and enjoy all the benefits.
At the same time I am playing around with the API and trying to work out a way of letting other users tap into a free service I am setting up. I don't need (and I really don't want) them to provide api keys to connect to my service. A simple connect will do.
This means I will have to access the API with my own key and invite users to connect with my account to be able to use their data. That is not very practical. My account will be cluttered with data from other users I want my service to be able to process, but that I don't need to see myself.
The only solution I see now is to open another paid membership, just to keep my API key and user data. That is a bit of a disappointment since I am already a paying customer with API access. Also because of the fact that I am not trying to make any money out of my service. It could even stay as limited as to a couple of other users. Not really worth another €8,- per month.
My idea would be to see if there is a way to somehow divert API access (in some cases) to a separate membership you can opt into if you are a paying customer. That way you can also remove the API membership user from your phone as soon at it has been set up to avoid leaking data in case you lose your phone.
Another way of fixing this would be to be able to hide accounts from the list. Although this looks like a workaround for this particular issue to me.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks!
