Right now I had a chat with a nice bunq employee regarding the MasterCard whitelisting. Here is what I found out:
Some months ago, bunq had an internal mapping list for matching multiple merchant names into one whitelist. This affects for example Amazon, who charge you card with multiple names like “AMAZON EU”, “AMAZON EU SARL” and “AMAZON EU MARKETPLACE”.
With the introduction of dodgy payments, bunq decided to remove this mapping feature, because it seemed unnecessary.
With this post, I want to ask bunq to enable this mapping feature again. I don’t want to enable dodgy payments when all i need is one whitelist for all of the merchant names Amazon is using. I think both features solve a different problem and can exist in parallel.
TL;DR: dear bunq, please enable the merchant merging feature for whitelists again, like it was before dodgy payments. :)
