Would it be an idea to be able to 'link' transactions within an IBAN (or perhaps also between IBANs on one bunq account) to make your payment history more insightful?
One awesome function of bunq is first of all that a shared payment request actually exists (at ING, I had to manually create payment requests for each recipient, even if shares were equal) but more importantly, that they show up as one 'event' in the history of that account (while still being able to access the individual transactions by clicking through).
I would love to see this taken one step further, also allowing users to link multiple transactions in the same way. Let me give you an example I came across recently.
I buy a present for a friend together with some other friends. I pay for the present and I send a shared payment request to the friends contributing to the present. I now have two transactions: one for buying the present, and the shared payment request 'reimbursing' me for most of the present.
Now, if one friend pays me back a few days later, those two transactions are separated by a whole bunch of other transactions (because the shared payment request gets bumped to the top of of my history for that account), leaving it to me to figure out what happened.
If I could have linked the shared payment request and the (say) iDeal payment, I will have one (in my opinion more meaningful) transaction for that thing. It will then also be clear that I personally only spent (say) €5, because I paid €50 for the present and got back €45 from my friends. This is great for getting a grip on how much you actually spend. I could then, of course, still access the individual transactions in the same way that you would now access the individual transactions in a shared payment request.
I think I haven't seen this suggestion on Together yet. If I failed in my research, do let me know! Otherwise, thumbs up if you like the idea. :)
