Card payments are becoming more widespread here, but you should take some cash with you to make sure you can always pay.

The currency here is Kazakhstani tenge. The symbol is ₸ or KZT.

50 000 KZT should be enough for a few days.
💳 Should I choose local currency or Euros when paying?
If you're asked to choose between local currency and Euros, always choose local currency.

If you are into meat, try the traditional Manti, a dish made of the ground lamb (sometimes beef or horse meat), spiced with black pepper, sometimes with the addition of chopped pumpkin or squash.
