BBiker You don’t seem to understand. I’m not talking about the storage of the transaction data, but the processing of the data. The processing of the data isn’t done safely in-app on my phone, but on some cloud setup. Yes, that means it is processed externally rather than locally. The bunq servers are always external for me, from my perspective and that of my smartdevice.
From the bunq server perspective my phone may be external indeed, but why would I care about that perspective at all? :/ That makes zero sense in this context.
Either way it doesn’t really matter anyway and the discussion on semantics is completely and utterly pointless. The data is being processed on their servers for a new purpose without being asked, without explanation and no way to turn bunq’s processing of your sensitive private information + profiling the data off. And that’s a privacy problem. I daresay it’s a violation actually, my transactions are suddenly being profiled and I didn’t sign up for that feature... Combined with no explanation on exactly how it works, what is used to make it works, who exactly processes the data (third party service), how it’s protected and what they can do with it: I’m not feeling comfortable at all with this sudden dataprocessing.
I fully support this feature, 100%. I do not support the way it has been implemented and forced upon us without proper information and not addressing any privacy concerns.
