Since update 12, the Data Science endeavors that are applied within the app got a very nice boost (in my opinion). Given the many misconceptions about Data Science that exist within our society, I think it would be great if bunq could write an article explaining their Machine Learning models. For example (but not limited to);
- Which specific models are used?
- What is the training/test data and can I opt-out for my data to be used?
- Are the predictions computed on my device or at bunq's servers?
I get that bunq doesn't want to make the competition wiser than they are. However, since many (if not all) of the techniques that are used are most likely not developed (but only applied) by bunq, I don't think this will be a problem. If they actually created their own prediction models, such an article would be even more interesting 😉
Let's see if the most transparant bank of the Netherlands can set the right example for explaining their AI methodologies 🌈
