The insights tab is a brilliant idea for visualising spending and budgeting. I've used Monzo in the UK and they've been doing the same thing and it's really awesome! However Bunqs implementation, for me, isn't exactly allowing me to visualise my budget properly.
My joint account is shared with my wife and all our shared bills come out of it. When the both my current account and joint account are selected in the filter it makes sense that my overall spending is combined, but when I unselect my joint account in the filter so I can see the spending in my current account only I get a misleading picture - all transfers into my joint account are hidden and are not counted as part of the spending analysis! This, I think completely stops you from seeing your true spending. I can't see what my rent and bill transfers, contribute to my overall spending!
I think when you have deselected a joint account in the filter, that transfers into that account should represent spending! It's more important I see how my share of the rent is represented in my spending, rather than the total of both my wife's and mine when the filters are selected for current and joint. I don't care what our joint spending is! What my wife spends doesn't help me budget, it just skews the data.
Monzo who I mentioned before treat joint accounts as separate accounts in the spending analysis where payments into these other accounts are taken into to account as spending and it makes so much more.sense.
Hope you don't think I'm.ranting. I really rate Bunq and really hope.other users and you guys see it this way too.
Peace :-)
