Pascal To sidestep that a little: in order for the green card to be even remotely worth the exorbitant costs, acceptance is a must. Therefore, it’d be nice if:
A.) bunq can campaign and lobby to merge MasterCard and Maestro in to one single payment system. In other words: get rid of Maestro! We wouldn’t be in this mess if finally Maestro got killed off in favour of MasterCard-only all across the globe. (And same for VPAY, kill it with fire.)
B.) That in the meantime, bunq gives Green Card holders from countries where Maestro is the primary method a virtual “green” Maestro for use with Tap&Pay, Apple Pay and/or Google Pay so that you can actually make transactions with the card and help plant those trees. Its not an ideal intermediate solution, but at least that makes the card usable for it’s alleged purpose of “saving the earth by paying”.
