We created the new Easy Green based on your wishes. With Easy Green all your card-spend counts towards trees, not just the Metal Card. And Easy Green is paid on a monthly instead of a yearly basis. On top of this Easy Green includes added features such as Invoice scanning and Receipt scanning, without the charge of €2.00/month that these features used to cost. All old Metal Card users have been converted to Easy Green with all additional benefits without any extra costs.
The new Easy Green plan will result in over 50% extra trees thanks to the addition of all cards. However, after launching this exciting new plan some users brought to our attention that they had already optimized all their spend towards the Metal Card, and therefore would like to have the old 2 trees per €100 spent.
Looking at the numbers we indeed see that the vast majority of users plant more trees with new Easy Green. However, a small group of users didn't benefit as much as we'd hoped. Thank you for pointing this out to us! 🙏
We've yet again listened and have decided to plant 2 trees per €100 spend on your Metal Cards, until March 2021. On top of that, you will continue to get 1 tree per €100 spent on all your other bunq cards.
This applies to anyone who was planting 2 trees per €100 before we launched Easy Green. So that's anyone who was a Personal or Business member, and had a Metal Card.
We’ll make this change in the coming weeks, and we will make sure to backdate it so all your Metal Card spend since we launched Easy Green will plant 2 trees per €100. 🌳🌳
How do you decide whether to plant 1 or 2 trees?
It will be based on the transaction that crosses the €100 threshold. So it will work both ways. For example;
- €98 on a Maestro and then €2 on a Metal Card = 2 trees
- €98 on a Metal Card and then €2 on a Maestro = 1 tree
Because the only people who had less trees with the originally announced Easy Green were those who put most of their transactions on a Metal Card, this solution will mean everyone ends up with more trees than they would have planted before Easy Green 🙌.
