You both sum it up precisely: @bunq has totally destroyed my (and I think of other bunqers, too) trust in so many different ways. Before I joined bunq I didnât trust any of those neobanks and fintechs, but by joining I gained trust into bunq within a few days because their core banking system is awesome, thought out very well, and âjustâ working, so I moved nearly all my money to bunq, and banking has been kinda fun from that point. Now it feels like a mistake. There is no other business than banking that relies that much on the trust a customer must have into the company â this is no game or something, we are talking about money, OUR money. I lost my trust because of
- I donât believe phrases like âwe are closely listening to our usersâ anymore, because they didnât listen to all those beta testers that spend so much time (is this lost time being considered in the âtime savedâ nonsense btw?) and effort finding and reporting bugs and given constructive feedback. Instead of listening and fixing they spent their time muting, hiding and censoring them, even tried it on reddit. And now as not only this ânoisy minorityâ but all other users are complaining about the same things, now bunq is listening?! This together community is amazing and adds such great value to bunq, they donât deserve to be kept down.
- I canât trust anymore that my money is safe here, because so many (or just the ânoisy minorityâ) are going to leave.
- how can this v3 get into production with all those known bugs (known since the beta testing), look at the list of (now partly) fixed bugs: https://together.bunq.com/d/30167-v3-known-issues Iâm a software developer in private banking business myself and my company would never ever have released a version with so many essential issues like âTotal balance doesn't reflect the actual total balance (iOS)â to name only one or that my âmoney savedâ shows 0⏠for ZeroFX, but I have single payments telling me I saved money due to ZeroFX, how can those sum up to 0âŹ? Can bunq even count and can I count on them? And that is only the âofficialâ list. And I donât speak about having only dark mode or that card types can not be distinguished. That are minor bugs or unimplemented features that might happen if you do a complete redesign, I donât care about that. I care about things like business accounts not showing up, âŠ
- I canât trust anymore in âAt bunq, we really care about your privacy.â, when an Instagram feed is integrated into a banking app and when beta testers complained about that this is not conform to the GDPR bunq at first disagreed (would love to show that comment, but itâs âgoneâ). I know meanwhile Instagram is not integrated directly anymore but that is still âfishyâ and not trustworthy.
Generally speaking Iâm disappointed and sad. Moved my money back to my old-fashioned bank, opened an account for my daily spending at a new mobile banking startup that started this month in Germany, and will downgrade from Premium to Travel Card only at the end of the month.
