Make Premium a more aware choice

I believe Premium offers a great value, however you make the choice too subtle with the free month. We should make new users more aware of what they sign up for. How about a confirmation screen like this?

Marco Unfortunately I can only give one high-five to this, I would give more if I could. Great idea.
And I'm glad to hear that bunq is working on this, because honestly, I did not see much reaction from bunq employees on any of the posts mentioned by John and Tim, which was kind of worrying.

Marco One of the massive benefits of the trial period is that you can open 25 accounts and still keep them if /when you switch to free. This should really be highlighted too!

You have a fair point that the Premium trial is not quite clear. We saw several posts about it this week alone. Apparently it isn't clear enough what the trial is about, when it ends and what happens afterwards.

Other bunqrs (and myself) reported this to bunq and they have confirmed they are working on improving the whole trial process! 👍👌

So, perhaps you will see your picture 🖼 someday in the app 👌.

John Do It sounds good! Personally I did read about the free month for premium in advance so I knew what to expect. However for example my wife didn’t expect to be charged as she hadn’t given any explicit consent...

I agree, I see too many people who were a little surprised (every single one is one too many of course).

I also participated in a couple discussions already too for a more visible solution like this. 😅

Roeshimi I wonder how long it would take the implement, it’s basically one screen in the sign up process. But maybe bunq is going to surprise us with it 😇

Roeshimi Hi Michael, I can assure you bunq is always reading 📖 along, even when they not replying. And personally, I spam bunq support all the time with ideas and remarks 😁😉 to make sure nothing gets unnoticed 👍

Marco In my opinion is it more then that. I adviced bunq to: clearly inform user during sign up (in email 📧 and app). And near the ending : 1 week prior, send an email. And 2 days prior, notification in app. Including the option to go to Free.

John Do I agree also on what you suggested: I get an email for iCloud one week before the payment is due, every month. The screen i attached is the minimum however.

Marco Hi Marco, out of curiosity I created a new account using bunqs test environment. Besides the fantastic graphics and super easy onboarding.. I also noticed that during this proces it isn't clear what types of memberships there are or even that I'm about to enter a trial period. Matter of fact out of the blue the app let's me order a card. I reported this to bunq this evening.

I don't know of this test represent the production environment, but if it does I see room for improvement!

Near the end of a trial period there is a cool 😎 and clear new screen tho. So, improvements are already made.

John Do I agree there is room for improvement in the sign up process: I’d rather have the clear choice between Premium trial and Free from the beginning (similarly to my mock-up). Like it is today, it may seem to some people that you are tricking them into premium.

The screen after the trial period looks good, however I’d state also what kind of features I get for confirming the premium account (cards, Apple Pay and so on...).

John Do It’s all in Dutch 😉 but I agree on the graphics... however the fact that it lets you order a card directly in the very first signing up process is even more misleading: nobody would think it’s a premium-only feature!
