Just wanted to share something that recently happened to my partner and I while applying for a mortgage in Germany. We have Bunq since a year or so and we love it, way better than any experience from any other German bank.
We recently decided to buy a house. Both with good schufa and right monetary coverage. We use bunq as account to get paid each month for our salaries. Our mortage application got denied by ING on the basis that their automatic scoring was red due to the fact our main account for receiving money was not starting with DE.
I'm sure there are all sorts of EU laws that prevent that, but also recognise it's a grey area. Wanted to know if anybody had a similar experience and perhaps if bunq - at the light of this - would ever considering providing also in-country IBANs.
We now had to remove Bunq from our monthly payslips and use a german bank account and potentially move each month the money there, but yeah - kinda tricky.
Thanks a lot all!
