Cancelling an automatic payment?

Yesterday I purchased a subscription and cancelled it again the same day. I was told no more money will be credited. Today to my surprise the same payment was done again. However, it shows as 'card payment' instead of yesterday's 'online payment'. Does anyone know how to cancel an authorization for a recurring payment? Thanks.

Such online/card payments can't be blocked on a merchant basis from your side unless you freeze the card. It's best to reach out to the merchant to let them refund you or use the correspondence to request a refund through bunq.

Hi Tim, so it's only the merchant who can cancel a recurring payment, I can merely make a request to stop automatic payments w/o direct control myself (except freezing or withdrawing everything)?

Arjan Yes. You have a bit more granular control when using direct debits to your account, but card payments go through Mastercard so it works similar to other credit cards.
