I tried bunq easyGreen for the last couple of months.
It feels great to get messages of trees being planted, and bunq is making a real impact on the world with this.
I just checked The eden projects website (bunq’s tree planting partner) and their FAQ says it costs about $0.10 to plant a tree and maintain it.
So far I planted about 10 trees a month with bunq. If I would have sent the €9 I pay for bunq green directly to eden, they could have planted more than 10x those trees...
What happens with the other bunq green income? And should the the program not be a bit more aggressive? (1 tree for every €10 spent, or you could use a progressive scale)
If we really want to save the future, we should plant as much trees as possible. I’m considering cancelling bunq green and just done €9 monthly to eden projects. Curious to hear bunq’s view on this
