setq So "sending" is just synonymous to making a payment and this setting affects every payment I make via bunq?
I'm no expert on the the limits, but as far as I know this affects any payment done in the app. Card payments do not count I think because, in principle, you authorize those using your PIN / Fingerprint / Face. It's a safety measure to make sure someone can't steal your phone while you're logged in to bunq, as soon as they transfer more than the limit for auto-logout, they need to supply your credentials again. This prevents someone from draining your account.
setq Are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure I have to supply a PIN if I do a contactless payment above 25 €.
Contactless until at least €25 are possible without PIN. I haven't used my card for a long time tbh, so I'm not entirely sure about cases above €25. Point is, contactless are payments when holding your card next to the NFC reader of a terminal. Apple Pay and Tap n Pay do not fall in this category as you pre-authorise those, basically replacing entering a PIN code (hence more secure, because even below €25 it won't work without authorisation).
setq Are Tap & Pay payments "In-app payments"
No, Tap n Pay (just like Apple Pay) are considered Card Payments. At least for Apple Pay it also mentions that in the 'Card Payments' limit description.
I agree that the limits are somewhat confusing, that's why centralised limits where introduced I think. But you're always free to suggest a better approach. Maybe you can figure something out that works 10 times better. bunq always loves to hear these suggestions to consider. Nevertheless the team continuously checks how to improve things. 🙂
