Bunq recently deprecated Tap & Pay without telling its users, as confirmed by their support personnel.
It means that old users can still use it, but new users cannot activate it. Neither can old users if they buy a new phone, or if they reinstall the app for any reasons.
Bunq recommends that people use Google Pay, a product of their competitor in mobile payments. Interestingly, this is the same bunq who advertises 'Privacy' and now wants us to hand over our payment data to Google. This is also the same bunq who advertised its Tap & Pay feature not so long ago, which convinced many privacy-minded users to sign up for its services.
Bunq, removing core features is not OK. Especially not without telling users! If you want to be a BANK, and not just another software company with limited liabilities, it's time to act like that and stop pulling acts like this.
