Our partnership with Easy Investments partner, Birdee, is ending, which means your Easy Investments Account will be closed on December 31, 2024. This change will create space for an exciting new auto-investment option soon, so stay tuned 🚀
What does that mean for me?
As of November 7, all top ups to your Easy Investments Account, including those from AutoSave, will be disabled.
Any remaining funds on your account by December 16 will be returned to your bunq account by December 31, 2024.
You can export the annual statement for your Easy Investments Account from the bunq app, starting January 15, 2025.
If you’d prefer to withdraw your remaining Easy Investments funds yourself before December 31, you can do so anytime via the bunq app.
How does Easy Investments work?
To make this possible and to make the most of your investing experience, we work together with Birdee, a socially responsible company that offers meaningful investments to everyone. Through the bunq app, you can open an Easy Investments account with Birdee. Birdee will invest your money in a smart and sustainable way 🚀
There are 3 portfolio strategies to choose from:
- Less Risk - lower risk, lower expected return
- Some Risk - stability in risk and return
- Vegas Baby! - more risk, higher expected return
To tailor the account to your risk profile, Birdee asks a few questions related to your risk appetite. Based on your answers, they advise you on which of these portfolios suit you best, however you can still make your own choice and choose the portfolio you want the most.
Note: Currently, the opening of a new Easy Investments account isn't possible. All existing Easy Investments accounts will continue to function as usual.
Who is Birdee?
Birdee is our investment partner that has similar values to us. They have a strong focus on sustainability and want to make meaningful investments accessible to everyone. When you make use of Easy Investments, you’ll be opening an account with Birdee, who'll invest your money on your behalf. Have a look on their website to learn more about them.
What are socially responsible investments?
Sustainable and socially responsible investments fulfill social, ethical and environmental criteria. Birdee selects investments that allow creating a better world while providing attractive returns. They do so by taking 3 concrete steps.
- They select the companies, organizations, and countries that have adopted environmentally friendly practices.
- They exclude certain industries, such as arms trade, tobacco and coal industry, porn industry and others that can have a damaging impact on society.
- They promote and encourage companies that take action to achieve sustainable development goals. 🌱
How do I sign up for an Easy Investments account?
Currently, the opening of a new Easy Investments account isn't possible. All existing Easy Investments accounts will continue to function as usual.

How can I update my Investor Information?
Due to legal reasons, Birdee requires all users to update their investments portfolio information on a yearly basis. This way they can continue providing you an uninterrupted smooth investing experience.
If not updated in time, you won’t be able to withdraw your investments until you update the required info. How can you update your Investor Information? Check the easy steps below:
- Go to Home
- Click here or on your Easy Investments account
- Click on Settings (⚙️)
- Select "Investor Information"
- Update your info accordingly 🙌
Is an Easy Investments account safe?
Of course! It's protected in multiple ways. When your money is transferred to Birdee, waiting to be invested, it’s protected by means of so-called ‘open escrow accounts’, which safeguard your funds against bankruptcy of Birdee or their bank.
As soon as your money is fully invested, it’s safe from the bankruptcy of either party. In addition to this, your investments (up to €20,000.00) are protected by the Investor Compensation Scheme, meaning that you’ll get investments up to this amount back if something happens to your investments because of operational errors or fraud.
Remember, investing comes with risk and you can lose (part of) your money. There's no guarantee for returns and the value of your investments fluctuate with the market. 📈
Does Easy Investment work with Auto Save?
Absolutely! It works the same as Auto Save for Savings Goal, but if you turn this on the funds will land in your Easy Investments account instead.
We’ll deposit the collected savings to your portfolio as soon as you hit the minimum required (€10.00) 🙌
