Kennedy's B.V. Hi there, this ad read from bunq is very special. What they mean by "save 3%" is that when you use your bunq Mastercard to pay for your Online Ads, then this can be up to 3% cheaper than when you use another bank's card to pay for them. Why would that be the case you wonder? Imagine this situation:
- You pay for your online ads in another currency than Euro (for example: US dollar), so the invoice amount has to be converted to Euro by your bank
- Your bank takes at least 3.5% fees to do this currency conversion
The logic here is that because bunq only takes 0.5% fees for currency conversions, that you have saved 3% by using bunq. Is it actually true, though? Do a lot of people use credit cards with foreign currency fees north of 3.5%? Apparently the marketing team at bunq thinks so.
