There are a bunch of Geldmaat ATMs near me that should also be able to handle cash deposits. However, the option doesn't appear for me when I insert my bunq card.

It's not supported. Geldmaat is a cooperation between ABN AMRO, ING and Rabobank. Therefore, they can only be used to deposit cash at bank accounts of these three banks.
