I discovered bunq by accident, when I was asked to implement API connection with this service, and these are my feelings after 2 months.
When I saw pricing I told myself, that It has to have some additional value and if it so, I would gladly pay 8€ for service, which I can get e. g. in N26 for 4€(when you pay annualy). Currently I have easy bank plan to test things around and have functional card for dutch stores, when I travel to Netherlands. I will start with what I liked.
It’s great that in contrast of N26 I am not limited in which country I am located and I have all functionality like dutch guy(couldn’t have maestro card in N26, because only german, dutch and austrian people can). App is pretty easy, so I don’t have to look for something all the time. And also very easy payments(and really fast!)
Now what I don’t like and is the obstacle for me to upgrade to easy money. Support is extremely slow and general. When I started with app, bunq required from me tax id. I wrote there, that slovak physical entity doesn’t have any tax id and did tap, that I don’t have one with reason why. But it has come more messages from the bot. After some time I wrote to real support. It took 1-2 days to reply me. And I wrote them about ny card issue on Friday(they wrote in automatic response, that they will reply within 4 hours) and still not got response. I would expect better support when everything is more expensive than elsewhere and you can’t have even one subaccount in easy bank(not to mention virtual card, because maestro apparently doesn’t work for all online payments). N26 has almost immediate support and they have also a lot of users. And Bunq also should have more people for support instead of replacing them with AI. So in current conditions, it’s very expensive to upgrade to easy money in contrast with what I can get in e.g. N26, revolut etc.
I hope this will get better
