Ulster Bank is closing the Republic of Ireland.
I therefore need to transfer a large sim of money in one go.
Will that cause any issues as I cannot afford to have the account frozen?
Yea, have no issues with that. I can provide bank statements from the old bank I if I have to.
Just cannot afford to have the account frozen.
Hi ✋, indeed large amount bank transfers can be a trigger for additional checks, delays in getting the transfer done and in occasions indeed temporary block of the account. This knowledge article is quite informative: https://together.bunq.com/d/26054-why-was-my-account-blocked
Additionally, having your wage (if you have one) already set for automatic deposit to your bunq account can increase the triggers thresholds. Good luck 🍀 Have a great day 🌈 GG
Markus I think that’s what I’ll do.
Do not attempt to split up the amounts as suggested. This is called smurfing, is easily detectable (so does nothing good) and just makes your transfers suspicious even if they aren‘t. Would highly advise to never do something like this on purpose.
Jakob Removed 🙏 Thank you 🌈 GG
Jakob I would actually more inclined to do that in case I inadvertently send the whole lot to the wrong account.
Perfectly valid reason for splitting up amounts.
But I suppose, could do one small test amount dnd then do the rest.
