Probleem met eerste keer bunq kaart gebruiken

Thijs Ik heb geen abonnement. Heb destijds deze kaart los aangeschaft. Toen heette het in ieder geval nog wel travelcard. Staat er ook nog op ☺️. En het is wel een prepaid volgens mij. Dus niet zoals een “echte” creditcard. Dank voor je hulp.

Petra Klopt! Dit abonnement bestond vroeger inderdaad, het is inderdaad een prepaid Mastercard. Deze wordt op veel plekken in Nederland niet geaccepteerd, omdat vaak alleen Maestro ondersteund wordt!

You might have initially purchased the Travel Card as stand-alone, but you were then changed over to the Easy Travel plan (without monthly fees) at some point. Now, in the meantime, this Easy Travel was removed again, but some users (like apparently you) might still be using it. The current pricing information on bunq.com does not include any information about Easy Travel anymore, so it's hard to be 100% confident but my guess is that Thijs is correct about the 0.5% fees for non-Euro currencies. At least that is how I remember it. Also ATM withdrawals might have an extra fee, so I would avoid doing frequent withdrawals, probably better to withdraw a higher sum once.

Thijs Nou dan ga ik er maar van uit dat het allemaal goed komt in de UK. Heb ook mijn Nederlandse betaalpas natuurlijk maar volgens mij betaal je geen transferkosten als je met bunq MasterCard (ik pas het net geleerde snel toe 😉) betaald. Kun jij dat bevestigen?

Petra Het is niet helemaal geen kosten, maar 0,5%. Dit is in ieder geval een stuk lager dan wat andere banken vragen! In de UK zou je pas het inderdaad moeten doen, vergeet niet on de instellingen van je pas het Verenigd Koninkrijk toe te voegen (standaard is je pas alleen binnen de EU geactiveerd).

Thijs Ja dat had ik al geprobeerd maar er gebeurt niets nadat ik deze aangeklikt heb. Staat dus nog steeds alleen op
Europa. Mij. Redenatie is dat Engeland nog steeds onder Europa valt ook al zijn ze uit de EU.

Jakob Thank you Jacob. Wat een interessante informatie. Een paar weken geleden kon ik steeds geen betaling naar UK doen omdat mijn pas constant op gedeactiveerd kwam te te staan. Ik activeerde dan de pas maar zodra ik de betaling wilde doen werd kaart weer gedeactiveerd. En kreeg een scherm over travel easy abonnement, eerste maand gratis. Pas daarna kon ik weer betalingen doen. Ik betaal blijkbaar vanaf juli een maandelijkse fee zie ik in mijn profiel. Dat ga ik eens verder uitzoeken. Erg verwarrend dit allemaal.

Petra Ah klopt inderdaad! De instelling is inderdaad Europa en niet EU. Als je op het Verenigd Koninkrijk tikt gebeurt er niets omdat je Europa al ingesteld had. Niks aan de hand!

Petra I guess then the screen you got was about the Easy Bank plan, not Easy Travel. You must‘ve missed the chance to keep using it, maybe you weren‘t actively using your card in the meantime.

The Easy Bank plan works differently. It gives you a full bank account for €2.99/month. But pricing structure for card payments is also a bit different than with the Travel Card before. Edit: Ok so you changed to Easy Money! That's another plan. This is regularly costs €8.99/month. It also comes with a lot more features than Easy Bank, and international card payments are cheaper, so for your travel it might actually have been the better option :) The currently available 4 plans are listed here for comparison: https://www.bunq.com/benefits
