Thijs When they started 6-7 years ago, they promoted their (at the time) free accounts big-time. In those days you didn’t pay any subscription fee, only transaction costs, which seems fair. A lot of bunq-ers from the beginning referred a lot of friends and family (like I did), so you can imagine their frustration when suddenly the vision changed to becoming sustainable instead of offering a cheap solution for users that use their banking occasionally. As we all know changing a business account is not easy. Customers have your bank account is their system, you have your website, templates, letterheads, so changing it is not that simple.
I had four accounts when they switched over to paid accounts (all residing under one company), but it was impossible to have those accounts merged. The result was that I paid over 50 euro’s per month to have all of those active for a whole while, until I was sure all my customers had my new bank accounts. Things like this made my furious and the new price increase is not helping much.. .
