I sent an invoice with my bunq account name, Ivan, bic, payment bounced saying it needed intermediary bank details?! What are these?

Andrew Some banks are not able to sent money directly to bunq, for example because they can't send Euro payments. Therefore, they might use a partner ('intermediary') bank to facilitate a transfer. bunq itself does not have an intermediary bank.

Susan Bergson Intermediary banks as a concept are only valid for SWIFT transfers. With the USD local currency account at bunq, you can receive US domestic ACH transfers. Instead of IBAN and BIC, you would tell your employer your account and routing number. In any case, there is no intermediary bank.
