For all my day to day digital payments, I have a dedicated DigiCard where the CVC doesn't change.
I use it with Google Pay to pay with my phone in local stores and online directly with the card details.
Some online transactions are labeled "card payments" and some are labeled "online payments". I can't find a real difference or a common denominator, to understand when which is used and what that means.
For example, Google Pays verification process uses "online payment", but paying for an in-app purchase is called a "card payment".
So now I am wondering:
- What is the difference between the 2?
- When are they used? Can I predict it?
- Does this make a difference to me?
(The labels could differ slightly, as I am translating them back from German.)
