Ukranian displaced person

At the moment I am in Holland and a Ukranian displaced person. I have opened an account successfully, if by any change in the future I have to return will I be able to use the card in Ukraine at atm's . Deposits will still be made via SEPA or swift. I presume I have to change my physical address and mobile number.

Johannes Ukraine is (at least for now) not a member of EEA or EU. That means if you permanently relocate to Ukraine and leave the EEA, you cannot continue using bunq. But of course as long as you continue to be a resident of any EEA country, then you can travel everywhere you want and use your card, including Ukraine. You can also change your mobile number to any number that is convenient for you.

For example I‘m a resident of Germany but I have a US phone number registered and receive all text messages without problems. But if I ever permanently leave here and go to live in a non-EEA country, even though my citizenship is also German and would continue to be so, I wouldn‘t be able to use bunq anymore.

Jakob Jakob my ATM card expires 2027 . Till that time I won't receive any post. I can by then change my Holland address to one of my friend's address. Do I understand right that I can change my future mobile number to any number including my possible Ukraine number.

Johannes You could add an address from a friend, but officially you should use your own address. I believe the bunq app also checks your geolocation, so if your address and location don't match you might risk your account being blocked.

And yes, you can always change your phone number.

Johannes Yes, the nationality of your phone number doesn‘t really matter as long as you can receive SMS messages from bunq.

Your address has to be inside of an EEA country. Of course bunq might not be able to check all the time if you‘re really still registered there, but I can‘t give you a guarantee that they will never check in the future. Technically if you permanently leave the EEA then according to the Terms & Conditions you are required to close your account (regardless of your nationality).
