How do you all use budget categories like, Family, Shopping, Entertainment, culture and others. Some seem vague and I don’t know how to categorize them. What did Bunq intend the use the purpose behind these categories?
Catherine For me, the predefined categories don't work very well. That's why I don't use them. I use separate sub-accounts for budgetting.
Thijs I do too, however miscellaneous items are spent. It’s nice to see the whole graphic for monthly comparisons.
Catherine Agreed! I have a "Day by day" sub-account that I use for things that don't fall in one of the other categories. I can still compare monthly, because I add the same amount to every sub-account every month. So at the end of the month, I can see how much money is left on that sub-account, to see how much I spent in that category
I really hate the fact the we have “car payment” but no “mobility” -> bike-related and daily transport expenses are simply NOT travel. Seems very backwards to me. Then again, if you don’t have a car, then you can easily “redefine” it’s meaning.
