As bunq, we comply with banking regulations in order for us to secure your personal data. That’s why we made sure to come up with an internal process, which ensures that in case of data breach all regulations are met and you’re informed right away.
What's a data breach?
A breach of security leading to the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to, personal data transmitted, stored or otherwise processed.
The following situations constitute a Personal Data Breach:
Where there is an unauthorized or accidental disclosure of, or access to, personal data (confidentiality breach).
Where there is an accidental or unauthorized loss of access to, or destruction of, personal
data (availability breach).
Where there is an unauthorized or accidental alteration of personal data (integrity breach).
What happens in such case?
If such breach occurs, our employees are required to inform the Data Protection Officer as soon as possible.
The Data Protection Officer determines if the Personal Data Breach is still ongoing and ensures that appropriate steps are taken immediately to contain and minimize the impact of the Personal Data Breach.
The Data Protection Officer will determine if a particular Personal Data Breach should be notified to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. If necessary the Personal Data Breach will be notified to the Dutch Data Protection Authority as soon as possible but no later than 72 hours using the online form.
Is my data protected?
Absolutely! In bunq we always make sure your data is secure - all of your personal data is encrypted and secured with an extremely strong authorization gate.
