Thanks for the detailed step list. After pressing the "Confirm my Email" link in the email your friend received, they should have seen a page that looks like this: 
Did they get there or just directly to bunq.com? I'm trying to figure out whether it was their email address that didn't get confirmed or whether their whole account was still awaiting verification from our onboarding team.
