In the Spending Insights, the categories for payments from joint accounts are based on the choice of the user who made the payment, rather than the current user.
This confused me at first, since some payments were showing in another category than I had selected myself. Once the other account user changed the category, this was reflected in my Insights too. βοΈ
Support clarified that this is intentional and not a bug. While I can adapt to this logic, it does not make sense to me that I can still choose a category for a payment I have not made myself. This choice is effectively ignored.
I would suggest to improve the UX by only allowing users to choose a category for a payment they made themselves. The field could be disabled for payments made by other users and show the category they chose.
Thatβs probably a simple change, but it can save a lot of time and frustration, Iβm convinced. π
