Just let me say first that I couldn’t be happier with my switch to bunq. Seriously, any of the support people I’ve spoken to have been super helpful and friendly and the company’s general ethics seem aligned with my own.
But I do think there is a valid use for a more “premium” card shipping option
If someone has been waiting for 2 weeks to receive a card and it doesn’t arrive, I’m not sure how well received a comment of “wait a little longer” is going to be. I know it wasn’t exactly what I wanted to hear. This was also when I found out that there was no tracking available.
If the card subsequently doesn’t arrive after, say, 20 days; being told to use your free replacement to order a new one and wait again… not super happy about that, but I shrugged it off.
I brought it up on the other thread, and got a few responses of “it works fine for me” or “it works fine for most” which particularly annoyed me.
I absolutely understand that it can’t be a perfect system and that some cards can go missing in the mail. It obviously is enough of an issue that there’s an official topic on the process to follow when your card doesn’t arrive (we’ve all been linked to it in all of the threads raised). My suspicion is that this is why there is a free replacement card too ;). And I’ve definitely seen at least a topic about this every few days, which is a lot in comparison to the number of topics that get raised on Together.
I think that adding the option to track the card delivery would give a lot of people peace of mind.
