What is the student discount?
As a student, you can get Easy Bank Pro (worth €9.99/month) for free.
Who qualifies for the student discount?
Students in the Netherlands who receive their student financing from Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (DUO) are eligible for the student discount.
How do I get the student discount?
Make sure you are on the Easy Bank Pro plan. Once you're on this plan, arrange for your student financing from DUO to be paid out to your bunq account. The discount will be automatically applied as soon as you start receiving your DUO.
How do I receive DUO on my bunq account?
To update your bank account number to your bunq IBAN on Mijn DUO, sign in and navigate to the "Mijn gegevens" section. Please note that if you make this change after the 12th of the month, the payout from DUO to the new account number will only commence from the next month. For additional details, please refer to the DUO website.
Will the student discount work if I’m on another bunq plan or in a bunq Pack?
You need to be on Easy Bank Pro for the student discount to apply. If you're currently on a different bunq plan or part of a bunq Pack, the discount won't apply, even if you're receiving DUO on your bunq account. If you're already a DUO recipient, and want to benefit from the student discount, you can change your plan to Easy Bank Pro by following these steps:
- Go to 👤 Profile
- Scroll down until you see your name
- Tap on Plan
- Go to Switch Plan
- Choose Easy Bank Pro
How much will I pay for Easy Bank Pro once I’m no longer a student?
Once you no longer receive student financing from DUO, Easy Bank Pro will be €9.99 per month.
