Hi,
I'm a Technical Writer by profession (and a politician, but that is not important right now) and also a consumer looking into switching to bunq. I mean switching my main banking accounts over to bunq.
That is quite a big step to take, so I first want to get more information about what I can do with bunq, how much it costs, what are all the features, how does it compare to my current bank, etc. I'm finding it really hard to get this information. In the end, I just started watchin all 7 update videos to get the information I needed, because I'm so involved in this choice. This involvement is caused by the fact that I really want to quit my current bank and I will not be happy with a suboptimal user experience - so there's no alternative than bunq for me.
Long story short. I think you have a problem with the information you share with the world. You have:
website (looks great, short pages, but doesn't link to more detailed information)update videos (great, lots of information, but takes hours to watch them all - yes I did this... but I'm a nerd)together (forum, great to share questions, feature requests, user engagement, support, not great for documentation, because the information is scattered, not structured, hard to navigate and gets out-dated, because old posts do not get updated)API docs (which btw don't work: I was clicking around, links don't work, ouch)
But what you're missing is structured documentation that describes, in detail, the features that you buy for your €8 a month (which is a lot more expensive than ING, which also has a great user experience, so you want to know what you're buying before clicking the Yes I agree button to start Premium).
Another thing I thought: it's super unclear for people outside the Netherlands, since it doesn't state anywhere in which countries the cards work, which currencies, whether your employer will be able to transfer your pay check to your bunq account, etc.
Some examples of the kind of docs that are very much missing:
https://support.apple.com/apple-payhttps://support.google.com/pay#topic=6224829Zelf ING heeft iets, maar het is een lelijke PDF met verouderde content https://www.ing.nl/media/ING_Handleiding_Mobiel_Bankieren_App_tcm162-80651.pdf
I hope this inspires you to think about adding some basic documentation, at least that describes the main features and for which countries they apply.
Good luck with bunq!
