With all due respect, but that’s nobody’s business but mine. ;)
The design is pretty nice overall. Clean and simple. The one thing I think is rather nasty is the screen where you can set a default picture for an account. Not sure why, it just feels wrong. The app also isn’t clear on all aspects, such as rearranging accounts and some other features are quite obscure/hard to find. (Or missing, I can’t seem to find a place to see all direct debit mandates.) Plus I think on iOS there is room to implement some force touch actions. :)
Moreover, I would like to see improvements in your transaction list. Currently, transactions are separated through a very thin line. Days don’t have that. Especially when scrolling, that doesn’t feel nice. A more “tiled” style with clearer seperators would be nice. Eg: each transaction is a rectangle, stacked below each other with a line/shader to distinguish them. Then when you reach the next day, make that a larger “tile” with the date centered in the middle in bold. That makes it a bit easier to read imho.
The app is horrible on iPad and needs immediate work.
I don’t like the bottom menu disappearing when opening a together post. For this post it’s particularly annoying. You have to type, select all text, copy, exit thread, go to destination to review design, come back here, paste your post, continue typing. Repeat foreach(); ;) Super annoying.
Everything feels way too big there. I hate this type of site, sorry. One large scroll. And to make it worse, tons of different colors (yeah yeah I get it, but that doesn’t really work this way. Plus due to the multiple variable sizes of tables/boxes: it’s an eyesore)
There’s not a lot of info on there... Too much stuff get’s posted to Together instead of faq’s on site. Use the site to spread proper information and sufficient information rather than hoping people find it at Together.
There is no online banking facility on the website which is a major shortcoming of Bunq and poses multiple problems.
All summed up, the website is rather useless imho and doesn’t feel attractive at all. (Especially on mobile. On desktop it’s less of a problem.) It makes me feel sad and my eyes burn. :P
I do not care much about ads, but the ones I did see for Bunq did not impress much. The posters didn’t seem overly clear at distance.
I saw ads a few times on Google by the way. The AdWords? The title set there is probably nasty to read on mobile if someone has OCD...

The description on AdWords is very well phrased. Straight to the point. That’s how I like it and makes it easy for people to know what it is and what they’re in for.
Overall I think the problem may be A) the marketing is a bit weird, people may sometimes get a wee bit confused about it. B) The site is way too limited and therefore probably, generally speaking; I know there are exceptions, not nice to use for older people. For them, funny as it sounds, the app might even be a bit difficult to navigate as not everything is in an obvious place and a bit stashed away. Navigation can do with improvement.
This is of cource the critical feedback, meant to be constructive. So whilst it may feel like a negative post, its just summing up some shortcomings I see and improvements I’d like to see. Overall the design is alright (it’s really too bad a rainbow was chosen as logo. That theme makes many things ugly as it doesn’t properly fit, sorry.) and I’d currently score it a 7. (6 for the site (being generous...), 8 for the app.). I hope bunq transitions away from that rainbow stuff sometime very soon by the way. It’s just putting people off imho as it looks weird (no not because of any potential association with the pride stuff, but simply because it doesn’t look nice imho.), especially with that card design you’re forced to use as a client... Get rid of the rainbow. It’s a bank, not a freaking bag of Skittles. :P But alas, I’m afraid that will never happen nor will we probably get decent card designs. But one can hope, and I do. I hope Bunq realises some people prefer a more clean and business like approach rather than rainbow colors everywhere you look. It’s just too much and as said: the attempt to corporate that in to the website didn’t work out well imho and makes it look a bit messy.
Thanks for your consideration and keep up the good work! :)
P.S. Editing a post here from a mobile browser is absolutely horrible. This needs some love. :)
