Why do you want to reserve yourself against receiving interest?

Eivind Not everyone likes fractional reserve banking. Me personally if I want to invest in something with my money, I just do so myself, I don't need the money on my bank account used for that. I want my bank to store the money, not anything else. Receiving interest is really disjunct from that. If I want interest there are a lot of ways, but bunq is unique in offering a bank account that just stores your money.

I hope - if the rumor is true - you have choice like a traditional bank:

normal accounts: ECB without interest;
saving accounts: like your settings (ECB without interest or invest with interest)

But also:
- every account ECB without interest
- every account invest with interest

Peter Why tic out ? What about all people who don’t check the option ? What about all old users that are not echelons every possible option everyday ? Bunq can not change something like that and say “just tic out” why not tic in if you want it ? I know the answer and probable you too.

That probably right. Since storing at the ecb only costs money. And state bonds are have such a low interest rate it will probably not even wheight up to the cost of storing at ecb

As described in the MassInterest Thread, you will still receive the (currently) 0,27% interest, even if you store all your Money at the ECB and Government bounds.

I understand your Thinking, but i do not share that Mindset. In my Opinion, you have all the Freedom you can have. If you want, that bunq does nothing more than they must with your Money, you can choose that. If you want them to invest your Money, you can choose that, too.
As a Benefit, all the Revenue is split to all Users. Means: You dont have to decide, if you will allow your Money to be used for something you dont like just for a higher Interest.

Unselect all options except the obligatory ones and you're back to the original situation. Except that now you also get interest. Nothing really changed as long as you untick everything possible. As mentioned above government bonds/storing at ECB was already the case. 🙂

Sander I know that it already was the case, but the point I’m trying to make is that I also want the freedom to not accept any interest.
