While I was looking trough my events, I noticed that on some transactions the location is provided in the details screen.
This behaviour seems to be a bit random, but surprisingly it does show my location where a direct debit was made on my account or where I transferred money from one account to another or where I payed via iDeal. On similar occasions, it doesn't show the locations.
I couldn't care less where I was when a direct debit was made from one of my accounts and I don't know why this would be of any use. Well, it could obviously be of use in some cases, but I never encountered one.
What would be useful is to see where I was when I made a card payment.
Descriptions on card payments often leave a lot to desire when it comes to specific information on where the payment was made. Many merchants suffice with the name of the store (which often is their official name and not the name I know the store by), followed by a number and a city.
As Amsterdam for instance had many Blokker stores, a description like BLOKKER56 Amsterdam NL doesn't help me much. Another example are mobile stores such as rail catering carts, where the description refers to the central location of the company.
Also the use of the same operative name for different brands of stores (i.e. HMS Host for most restaurants on Dutch train stations) leaves me clueless on where I was when paying.
This leads to the suggestion to show the locations on card payments rather than showing them on other payments.
And off course, for all you privacy caring bunqers, a toggle to prevent bunq from tracking locations on any events or some events.
In my situation I would prevent the app from tracking where I was when a direct debit was made, or a transfer, but I would allow the app to track my location for card payments and iDeal payments.
