Solved

Hi,

Feature request; option to add amount to bunq.me payment link.

Would be great to be able to add the amount for my customers so they can click and pay, easy.

Hey there!

Fun fact: we actually have that option 😄

Here's what it looks like: https://www.bunq.me/XXXXXXXXXX?amount=1.5

This would open a bunq.me page with a prefilled amount of €1,50 👍

That’s awesome!

The link would be even prettier if it would look like:

https://www.bunq.me/XXXXXXXXXX/1.5

(PayPal supports Thoes URLs as well)

Would it be possible to build that improvement?

Or does it interfere with future plans for the Bunq.me URL structure?

I don't agree, it's better to follow the conventions, amount is optional so making it optional with ? is better in my opinion.

Sven, it should of course be entirely optional.

So just sending someone to your bunq me page without any specific amount would work using:

https://www.bunq.me/XXXXXXXXXX/

And when you want to specify the amount, the extra parameter in the URL will be very easily set by adding it to the URL.

For example to request € 25:

https://www.bunq.me/XXXXXXXXXX/25

Or to request € 99,95:

https://www.bunq.me/XXXXXXXXXX/99.95

It would be simply URL Rewriting that would insert the extra amount after the / as the same parameter into the ‘amount=xxxx’ variables like in the current situation.

Much easier to create.

And looks much friendlier and trustworthy and less hacky than those amount=parameters.

Much shorter to share in chat messages as well.

I think it's not possible to argue about taste ;-)

For me it's more trustworthy if the url is describing where the parameter is used for. If you have ever used a RESTful api you maybe understand my objection better. If you specify an integer number like /25 you are normally receiving a particular element of a collection.

Nice! Thank you.

Now to find a way for my accounting programm to convert 2,5 to 2.5 :S

Or can bunq just accept 2,5 as an amount in the URL? That would solve a lot for me :)

I could of course talk to some developers in the office 😏

That would be nice. Thanks.

That would be great. It’s the way PayPal works as well. I like this approach because there is no setup required, just enter something like bunq.me/account/amount, for example: https://www.paypal.me/raulpesch/1

How about making it possible to add in the url an reference just like PayPal?

https://bunq.me/NAAM/BEDRAG/OMSCHRIJVING

https://bunq.me/NAAM/BEDRAG/OMSCHRIJVING?max=1

https://doc.bunq.com/api/1/call/bunq-me-tab

https://doc.bunq.com/api/1/call/request-inquiry

Hi all! Thank you for all your comments :)

We made the url a little bit prettier and now it's possible to enter the amount by:

https://www.bunq.me/XXXXXXXXXX/1.5

or

https://www.bunq.me/XXXXXXXXXX/1,5

Let us know if you got more ideas for improvement! 😁

Hi Julita, thanks a lot!

Wanted to try this, but SOFORT, seems not to work currently?

The "Starting SOFORT payment..." does not change. Any ideas?I tried Chrome, FF, Safari and mobile Browser. Do I need a Klarna App?

Hi Simon,

Thanks for letting us know! We are aware of this issue and we’ll let you know once we have more information. Unfortunately for now there does not seem to be any workaround for this issue.

Dank developers! :)

Hi ConX Networks,

Thank you for your answer! We have discussed your suggestion and got to a conclusion that unfortunately we will not include the additional thousands separator support.

The reason for this decision is that we want to keep the url as clean and straightforward as we can. The thousands separators can be either: space, dot or comma and thus would add slightly more complexity to our url. In our eyes the url, which is not a text field, should be kept as pure and simple as possible to provide the best experience.

I hope you understand and if you have more suggestions, please let us know!

Have a great day :)
