I was wondering if you guys were planning to provide a separate pricing with the Maestro card only.
The Premium bundle is way more expensive than other banks for customers like me who only need a debit card 💳.
Hi Guillaume, thank you for your feedback! Using bunq is joining a fundamentally different bank, which might indeed be a bit more expensive than other banks. Maybe this discussion is interesting for you to read: https://together.bunq.com/topic/why-bunq.
We do understand that you might not need everything that's in the premium package. Offering a maestro-only package is not on our roadmap, but i've changed your topic into a wish and we will look into the possibilities of offering other packages!
I understand you are not investing customer's money unless in government bonds. I can see you already open you APIs(awesome!) which comes with extra costs. Etc...
Overall I think I get why BUNQ is more expensive.
Still I am frustrated with the range of available pricings. I feel unfair to pay 8€/month if I don't need 25 accounts and 2 credit cards.
I hope you will reconsider it.
I was also wondering if bunq will ever create a single card / modulair package that lets you pick between 1 or 2 cards or something similar. I do think there are a lot of people that really like bunq and would like to support the company by using a paid packeage, but think 8 euro a month is too expensive, and 5 euro a month is not doable because they don't have 3 friends/relatives that also want bunq.
The chances of that happening are next to zero. We're focussing on those who are tired of the status quo and want an incredible experience. We feel that 7.99 is more than worth it. A typical gin & tonic costs more. Depending on your requirements there are plenty of other, more cheaper, options. They also come with a different experience, though.
Nice to get some definitive feedback directly from Ali regarding the constant questions for an intermediate / cheaper package! 👍
It might be worth considering changing the way certain features are marketed. I’ve read multiple comments by people writing they don’t need 25 IBAN’s. I doubt there are many use cases for continuous usage of 25 IBAN’s, but the ability to easily open multiple IBAN accounts with a generous limit of 25 seems super powerful. To me, it’s knowing that you can always open an IBAN without having to worry about restrictions.
Maybe call it "Unlimited* IBANs! (*unlimited means fair use. Fair use means max. 25)" 😂
OK, I understand. Then bunq is not for me. Like I said elsewhere, I'm not going to pay for stuff I do not need. Wish you all the best.

Bunq is good.
When you put it next to other dematerialized banks in europe it doesn't look that incredible to me. Still it is by far the most expensive.
In order to understand what makes bunq special, I am willing to hear what are the features a customer gets using bunq which don't exist anywhere else.
Two pin codes. 25 IBANs. Not selling your data. Not investing your money. Official joint accounts for more than two people. Chatting. To name some.
Well Guillaume, I could give you countless reasons why bunq is a refreshing alternative for every traditional bank. And I could give you the same amount of reasons why bunq is even on the cheap side. You are a bunqer, so if you aren't already convinced, there isn't much I can say :)
Thank for the answers. Will try this out.
