Hi, I’ve just got the mastercard today and it’s beautiful! The letter as well, simple instructions and colorful in the best bunq style. Great job!

Well thank you Marco! We love to hear that you are loving our cheerful and colourful card 🌈

Why don't you engage with our community here as well?

Well I love the back of the card, the classy black color. But I feel like a LGBT ambassador with the rainbow when I’m waving my card to pay. Even got some questions from a cassier; don’t like it. Would love to personsalize my card like at ING here in the Netherlands.

Because... you don't support LGBT's?

Hey Melvin,

We stand out just like our card - vibrant, different, unconventional 🌈. At the same time we understand users will have different wants and needs for the appearance of their cards. There's actually a topic on your suggestion here. You can leave your comment there and engage with other users at the same time, on the same topic :)

I don’t want to be linked to the LGBT support community that’s right. That does not mean I don’t support them, it means that I don’t agree of the way they handle things.

That’s the whole problem, as soon as you criticize movements like Black Lifes Matter or the LGBT you’re instantly labeled as racist, anti-LGBT or something like that. But that’s a whole different discussion ofcourse; the point is is that I don’t like the rainbowcolors on the card because of it’s strong connection to LGBT like movements

Sorry Jasper, but René's mockup is perfect 😁

You’re overthinking this. It’s not a ‘strong’ connection to lgbt. Only the last three columns of the pattern are similar to the lgbt flag and they’re vertical vs horizontal. The rest are shades of green and shades of blue.

Personally I don’t see how holding the bunq colors would be an indication of affiliation to the lgbt movement. At best the bunq movement, which is something to proud of! The Mastercard logo is also the red/orange/yellow pattern, so no MC for you?

Good one Xander! Unlike you, not everyone is as familiar with the specific color combination of the LGBT flag unfortunately. 🤷‍♂ Especially in a glimpse it looks a lot like it.

Personally I love the bright colors of Bunq, it really stands out. But the way it looks now, it looks to much like a specific political symbol and I don’t want to be connected to any political movements. About the colors of the mastercard logo.. well I think you know the answer yourself 😉

Was in the US last week and got so many compliments about the card I wouldn’t be able to count them on my 10 fingers.

However, I’m still hoping that there will be an option for a ‘classy’ vs ‘colourful’ card. I would love a card in the N26 shiny black style, but then with small colour letters ‘bunq’ written on it.

I agree, a total black version looks nice. However the colorful one really differentiate bunq!

It doesn't have to be completely black, I have made a very quick mock-up to show that a black card can still look 'bunq-ish':

Obviously the mastercard/maestro logo is missing and you can't really see how shiny the card is etc, but I'd love something like this. It looks more professional, but still quite playful and not very 'over the top'.

I like it!

I did this mockup some time ago: https://together.bunq.com/topic/the-refreshed-maestro-design#comment-23345

It could be helpful to better differentiate your own cards better, without losing the colors...

But different shades of black would be also cool.

It'd be awesome to be able to choose from a selection of cards. These colours look cool too Simon. Personally I would like a black card as mastercard and a colourful one for maestro... don't even ask my why ;)

those are nice! I saw your idea Rene and I made it a bit nicer in my opinion^^. I'm curious if you guys like it and if bunq is going to do something with it

I like the creativity Jasper. As said, for me personally I’d like a black card as it can still be quite minimal, formal but yet bunq styled. Yours are a bit more graphic, which is cool, but probably a different category.

I say: keep it simple.

Is it simple as it is right now? 😊🤔

I meant to do not make so many variants... however I also believe that it is simple today.

I think Monzo and Revolut get it. The rainbow is limiting bunq’s brand visually. I would pay for a better quality card with a more minimal design.

I'm visually impaired and it would be really useful to have a different colour option. My other bank gives me a black and a silver one and from my point that of view it's terrible because I can't see them a lot if the time! I'm always losing them! So the bunq card is great because I can actually see it! However an alternate colour option for MasterCard would be perfect.

I can receive card without mastercard logo?

I don’t think so

Hi Wissem,

Our bunq debit Mastercard will automatically come with the Mastercard logo- so this cannot be removed. This way it's also easily distinguishable between the Maestro card 👍

If you have any other questions, I'll be here 🙋

Hello 👋,

I just wanted to say that the bunq cards my favorite MasterCard designs they look truly awesome, I really love it that they are so colorful 😍. They always make me smile when I hold them in my hands. So thanks @ bunq for making so amazingly beautiful cards. I actually thin that the rainbow designs makes the bunq card stand out from the crowd :) And I like the design much more then for example the black revolution premium card.
