Andreas☀️ Happy to hear they are automatically removed after leaving the app. That helps.
The blue dot ‘design language’ is still confusing to me in this context:
- It means ‘new’ which is great.
- It also means ‘unread-you still need to check this out’. But by looking at them in the list I already noticed them and that’s enough
The blue dot urges me to take action on these activities. Like new forum posts (love them there), chat messages and your email inbox. The de facto way it’s used everywhere online.
In the context of the Events tab I now have to train myself to ‘ignore’ the dots telling myself ‘ok you’ve seen it now you can ignore it because it will automatically go away next time’ which is highly unintuitive.
I would suggest:
- either a slightly colored background for the new events
- or a temporary separator line separating old and new in that session
- something else, as long as it doesn’t urge me to act on it like the blue dot does
