@Darkbull#78680 What do you mean by declined after a week? Normally when people say declined they mean the card didn't work in the store, but in your care it did right? So what happend after a week? Did Sixt give you a call? Did you see a message in the bunq app? Was the card declined at a different place?

For the deposit it is normal that it comes back if you didn‘t damage the car.

@Darkbull#78696 SIXT normally doesnt allow debit cards, because unlike credit cards they can‘t split up the safety deposit.
They have to return the full amount and then request the rental Price again, wich is a risk for them 😉

In any case they will probably request the actual amount in a few days. I don‘t think there has been any problem, or did Sixt contact you in regards to this?

Most rental car companies prefer credit cards because they can pre-authorise or temporarily block your card for a pre-determined amount as a deposit in case of damages and process or release it later on. Those that accept debit cards for deposit on the other hand usually have to charge the full amount of the deposit in advance and refund you later. ThIs process takes longer and offers less protection for the car rental company so they often perform a credit check prior to debit card approvals.

It’s usually advantageous to have a credit card (In addition to debit card) for the sole purpose of car rentals. Additionally, in some countries petrol pumps at garages will only except credit cards and not debit cards.

Hat jemand im letzten Monat Erfahrung gemacht mit Sixt ? Meine Karte wollten die heute nicht akzeptieren. Trotz Diskussion wollten sie die nicht annehmen.

@Aquamarine-Owl-1294159164#149826 Ich habe ganz nett den Mitarbeiter gefragt, aus welchem Grund? Ich solle die AGBs durchlesen. Lange diskutiert nur leider ohne Erfolg. Keine wirkliche Antwort bekommen. Der Chef war nicht da und eventuell hatte der Typ einen schlechten Tag.

@Phil-Lord#149828 Welche MC hast du den vorgelegt? Debit oder Travel Card Credit. Ich denke wäre die Travel Card Hochgeprägt (Name,Nummer) dann hätte es bestimmt geklappt. In Hotels z.b. hatte ich keine Probleme bis jetzt. Autovermietung kann ich nix sagen,muss ich selber ausprobieren.

@Phil-Lord#149820 Bei uns in der Firma hat die Rechtsabteilung vor einigen Jahren den Rahmenvertrag mit Sixt gekündigt und den Mitarbeitern die Nutzung von Sixt wegen unseriöser Geschäftspraktiken verboten.

Höre also nicht zum ersten Mal von Probleme mit Sixt. Gibt es vielleicht Alternativen für dich?

Sixt übertreibt leider. Bin nach Enterprise und dort ging es ohne Probleme
