Sebastian I think it's a bit like a Pack. Only you can have more people in it and there are a lot of limits that are shared (but not all) while in a Pack all limits are per person with the exception of the interest.
Also it's not really clear to me what happens if there are more costs. For example withdrawal costs or SWIFT transfers. Whose going to pay? For SWIFT transfers you could argue the person who owns that account. But for withdrawals that's complicated because bunq doesn't know who used the card.

Michel 🇳🇱 you can buy extra physical passes for €4 each extra I think. I think the new joint account will work really well for some situations like a family:
2 adults, 1 kid: €9.99 a month (all have cards)
2 adults, 2 kids: €13.99 (all with cards)
2 adults, 3 kids: €17.99 (all with cards)

That makes far more sense to me than trying to have premium accounts each, or a mix with free accounts (with the limitations involved), or having to pay €20 for a pack.

For my own situation, I wanted may partner to join bunq, but the full cost of premium was too much for what she would actually use it for. This way I can spend €2 extra a month and it’s exactly the right balance of resources for us.

What about interest? Is that also limited like a pack?

Michael My guess is that it is the same as a Pack, but bunq hasn't said yet as far as I know.

Freek well, that's the thing... as mentioned by Jeroen 🏳️‍🌈 .... the pricing document indicates that ordering extra cards beyond the 3 included ones is not possible within bunq Joint...

Bastiaan How does that work? If I got 9k on my account and some one else has 1k what happens? Do I get 90% of the interest or half?

I see no real use especially with the limitations of physical cards. So disappointing and no real use for families

Jeroen 🏳️‍🌈 from what I’ve heard: your max. Interest is capped. If you have 2 persons in your bunq Joint (terrible name btw 🙈) then your interest is calculated over max. €10.000,- / 2 = €5.000,-. Balance doesn’t matter.

So the max interest is per user divided by total members if I understand you correctly? With 10 users, the maximum amount interest is paid over is €1000 each then? That makes some sense, more sense than in Pack anyway hehe.

Hi 👋🏼 Super bunq users :)

Slowly but surely it becomes to me clear how Joint works.

Let start with the good news.
I think Joint 💨 can be the sweet spot for many couples who think that needing multiple Premiums is too expensive and don't need all the Premium goodies per user. I personally don't think it is a real solution for a whole family tho.

A critical note...
I think the whole communication was a bit lagging. I took me quite a while to understand it (could be me tho 😉). With Joint💨 their did made it whole membership scheme difficult to understand, especially because they aren't easily to compare.

Anyway, hope it will resolve in many more new bunqers

Back in the days when AP was introduced, I received an online card, does this one count for the 5 online cards per person? After this I ordered 3 physical cards, and later on 5 online cards. What will happen if I would go to bunq joint, as I am actually one online card over the limit?

Apologies if this has already been mentioned somewhere, but how do cards work in bunq Joint? Are they always in the name of the person who orders them, and so can they strictly speaking not be shared around / lent to your partner(s) like all bunq cards (strictly speaking) could not be until now? Or are cards ordered within bunq Joint now in the name of both/all partners, and completely officially allowed to be shared among the partners?

Jonathan Hi Jonathan, I hope I did understand it correctly but it works like this:

Every Joint co-owner can order a card. When they do, they only can choose to put their name on that card. So, yes.. every card is personal. And strictly speaking, you still can't share them. And of course, in total there only can be three active cards for all members combined, and also there is no option to order more than these three.

So a member can ran into the situation were he cant order any cards because the three are already ordered.

Is it really really shared? Like my wife can attach my card to different ibans at any time? She can see all my weird bunq.me pages and change them? See all the times I bought a satekroket just before dinner? I wouldn't mind sharing the number of passes or the number of ibans but not everything is handy when shared. It's nice to see bunq think (and act) along these lines though there are obviously some questions to be answered :)

Freek well, if John Do 's answer is correct, and it kind of makes sense, I'm guessing your wife cannot even see your card in her app interface, since it is yours, not hers. So, no, she won't be able to attach your card to a different IBAN, she can only do that with her own card, in her name, that she has ordered herself. It makes a lot of sense this way, the only thing is that the limit of 3 cards in total for the whole bunq Joint family seems on the low side...

Jonathan Ah, nice, but, it's only 2€/month per extra (active!) card which isn't too bad.

Jonathan Normally indeed I'd have 2 cards in my wallet as does my wife, for our own and our joint account (groceries etc) but with bunq you can switch your card on the fly so you need less card and then there are the 5 virtual cards... I think we'd manage.

Jonathan JohnDo is correct. My wife and I already changed to joint and it works as he described it. I froze my MasterCard and now only have one maestro. My wife has MasterCard and maestro because she does most of the shopping. We now have 25 accounts total which is enough for us.(instead of 50 with two premium accounts). You’re always free to upgrade back to premium and reactivate your cards.
