  • Let me open my bank statements directly from the app (Android)

Hey!

Right now, when I create a bank statement (or transaction overview) I'm forced to share it before I get the chance to check it.. Every other banking app lets you open it in your favourite PDF reader, and from there you can share it and most importantly check it before sharing it!

It's a little thing, but right now I need to email me my bank statements to see them.. not really convenient.

@johannes#82627 I suspect you are on android, as on iOS you get a button for quick view (see included screenshot) on the share sheet when you create a statement export. This is unfortunately a limitation of Android I believe. But you can just ignore it and go back to the list and click the preview button.

@DaveFlash#82644 "Limitation of Android", it's also possible to do that on Android, if the app developer enables it, but good to know that this is an Android only issue..

@johannes#82645 Ok, the reason Bunq has implemented this way is that most users want to sent an account export to their bookkeeping software right away and this is the quickest way

@DaveFlash#82649 It's ok, but why not both variants like on iOS? And I am talking about the PDF version, I want to check it sometimes before sharing it.

@johannes#82647 As stated, thatโ€™s a limitation of android, I suspect android doesnโ€™t natively support pdf

@johannes#82653 Yes I know, but as I said, I believe some android builds from the big manufactures do not include system pdf support as they would need to pay Adobe license fees for that. Apple does pay those so it works there. If however pdf support is native to the system, than the problem is still in the way the android share menu/popup/sheet whatever works. Unfortunately Bunq has no control over how android does certain things.

@DaveFlash#82644 I've been using an iPhone for so long now but I have never seen this button. Thank you :)

@Roeshimi#82656 No problem, happy bunqing minor differences between android and iOS app are sadly unavoidable. Sorry.

@DaveFlash#82655 Dave, Android does if Google Services are installed, but you can't get bunq without Google Services, so that's not a problem. Don't worry, Android is able to open PDF files.
And as I mentioned, every other banking app just let's you open your PDF file so you can check it, in the PDF viewer you have the share button to finally share it.

Can we please agree on that it's currently not available with bunq on Android and bunq should change that? Instead of going back and forth what Android is capable of doing and not doing?
