  • Option to remove ad on bunq.me page

Today I noticed an ad on the bunq.me page of my business account at bunq. I don't mind it being there on my personal page, but on my business page I kind of dislike it. I spoke to support but at the moment there is no option to remove the referral link.

Are there more people who think the referral link should be removable?

@Joel#91295 As far as I recall it, the bunq.me page is a key feature of bunq, which I pay for.

Th costs of maintaining this page are deemed to be included in my subscription fee, so why would bunq charge a third party (the advertiser) for this?

I would understand it whem bunq offers space to advertise and the user would get the proceedings, but I guess you don't benefit of the add.

@Samzoiets#91377 Thanks for your opinion, I think you make a strong point about it being a key feature of bunq for which you pay.

One thing I need to clarify is that the 'ad' is a bunq referral link, the one you can also share with your friends. You will get €10 if someone signs up using that link. Also, there is no third party involved as bunq is the owner of the ad.

I personally think this should be an option (especially for business users) and not be forced.

@Joel#91378 Ah, it makes a huge difference who the advertiser is...

Still; when I use a service of a bank, I would like the bank to refrain from advertising too. The should suffice with a mere link to their website.

At least an opt-out, especially for business users, would be much appreciated

I had completely missed it, but I don't really like it either (on my personal page). I would also like to see this as opt in. Or after the payment has been completed; then you've seen the entire flow, then it would make more sense for me to have such a link showing along the lines of "want to have such a payment experience yourself? Click here..". 🙂

I checked our business bunq.me page. And the referral link isn’t mentioned there. Only a ‘what is bunq.me’ link to a FAQ page.

On my personal page there is a referral link. But that’s fine in my opinion.

I think it only shows this referral text if you have created a personalised invite link in the bunq app.

@Bastiaan#91403 That could be true, indeed. But once a referral link is created, you don't have an option to delete the link again.

@Joel#91405 Under profile -> bunq.me, you can deactivate the link. Maybe that gives the same result?

@Petervdv#91408 Yes, that will completely deactivate the bunq.me page. Or do you mean something else😄

@Joel#91410 O wait yeah, you were talking about the referral link, not the entire bunq.me link. Never mind 😁

hmmm.... strange they've added this without any notification to the user. this comes as a complete surprise to me, and yeah I know bunq likes to surprise us with features, but i'm not so sure this is the right way

Would like an opt-out feature as well. A toggle on the bunq.me link settings page would be perfect.

@Bastiaan#91403 Don't think so, I haven't created a referral link and it does show it on my bunq.me page as well...

Also why does that Invite your friends to bunq button have to be so big on my accounts page?

@Delano#91442 I remember i could swipe the button on the accounts page away.
