Jeroen 🏳️‍🌈 Pour la simple et bonne raison que c’est un système qui existe déjà, et qu’il est très pratique car ne nécessite pas de contrat supplémentaire, de prestataire supplémentaire, etc.

J’ajoute que les assurances spécifiques, au moins en France, sont horriblement chères. Celles associées aux cartes de paiement sont habituellement beaucoup plus raisonnables – car diluées dans un pack qui contient de nombreux services.

BigBoss 🇪🇺 Y'a pas que le prix. Les garanties proposées par cette assurance sont correctes mais ne sont pas fondamentalement meilleures que celles proposées par la plupart des assurances de CB. Surtout, elles ne s'appliquent que pour des voyages de moins de 6 jours, là où les CB offrent une couverture pour 3, voire 6 mois.

Je viens de faire un devis pour un voyage de 2 semaines aux USA, la fourchette de prix est dans les 100€. C'est hors de prix.

Sans compter que je ne cherche pas forcément que le moins cher, je cherche aussi la simplicité. Et ça, les assurances de CB l'offrent quasiment clé en main.

+1 for bunq travel insurance as part of the travel card. One of the things I'm missing with bunq that I enjoyed from my time at Revolut.

I love Bunq but I had to subscribe to an additional bank in order to get the insurances... Would love to see that ''new feature'' as part of the package ;)

Yannick Usually you don't need a bank to get insurance. Insurance companies sell insurances, and banks offer banking services. I don't see why these should be connected.

I think bunq doesn't need such feature. It's not cool to copy all thinks from other fintech companys. Bunq should be unique and not a copy of all others like N26, Revolte ore so.

kreativmonkey Klopt! Ik vind dat inderdaad andere kaart ontwerpen mogelijk moet zijn. Verzekeringen echter moeten wij bij Bunq niet aanbieden. Afgezien van het kopieer gedrag van andere fin tech banken, hebben de meeste EU burgers al een ziektekostenverzekering, reisverzekering etc. en moet Bunq dit vooral niet aanbieden. N26 en Revolut hebben black kaarten accounts als verdienmodel maar alleen interessant voor mensen zoals Nomads.

Except that bunq only wants to compete with banking services. Not insurances, mortgages, etc. bunq thinks that banks should focus on their core responsibility; holding your money safely and allowing you to pay/receive money. 🙂

Maarten Polderdijk I don't think that's the bank, it's the card company that offer the insurance service. It can be useful when you rent a car for example (rental company insurances are a theft).

Matteo Great news in this regard! bunq has just launched "Purchase Protection and Extended Warranty" for Green Card holders at Update 13 last week, read about it here.

It includes all what you may expect from Mastercard's Purchase Protection and such, as you find on existing creditcards from other banks and financial institutions, a full list of what is included, you can find on the Mastercard website (Dutch).

However, as this a costly option for a bank and Mastercard to include, bunq currently only offers it for Green Card holders, either when subscribing to Green Card on it's own or alongside existing Premium, Pack, Joint or Business accounts at €99,- a year extra + your current subscription level price.
