The weird thing is: yesterday I tried first with my bunq card. It would not go through. Then I tried my ING card, also a simple debit Maestro card, and that worked without issue.
So the bunq version simply is handled differently from other banks!
@Mark-Aquamarine-Shark#29482 Could have different reasons. bunq's extra layer of card security settings (dodgy payments/magnet stripe enabled), country whitelisting, or maybe the terminal is "offline".
@Ronald-Maroon-Panther#29521 What about the single selection of European Union ? That is the default setting
I have a toll badge, so no need to pay at the terminals (awesome device by the way:
@Mike#29536 Whoops, accidentally submitted the post. Anyway, toll badge can be ordered here http://www.area-enligne.com/Area/accueil.aspx?site=AREA&lang=NL&page=ACCUEIL
I only needed to pay toll at the Munt Blanc tunnel. I gave them my debit MasterCard and the toll (about 40 euros) was paid without entering any code. Isn’t that kinda weird?
@Mike#29538 Perhaps you’ve enabled the magnet stripe?
@Mike#29538 Thanks for the link. I didn’t know that was possible.
@Xander#30368 If you need it fast, you can also buy it at the ANWB in the Netherlands. 👍🏼
To let you all know, the MasterCard worked perfectly at the Italian tollbooths (I choose the one with the sign Carte). In one occasion it took a few days for the transaction to be visible in Bunq (strange?!), the others were listed very fast (don’t know if it was instantaneously or within some hours)
