Hello, I want to order the green card, but I can not choose it. It only lets me order a credit card. I have a travel card so far.
@Lars-Olive-Wolf#138315 you need to change your membership from Travelcard to Greencard then. Your Travelcard will be disabled as far as I know.
@Sander#138317 Hello, actually this is what i want to do. I can only choose: premium, joint or pack, there is no green card option.
You can choose a Greencard with the Premium membership. At least I can.
@Lars-Olive-Wolf#138319 hmm I'd ask Support 💬 in that case, I believe you should be able to change between the Travelcard and Green card plans.
Can I setup a direct debit with my account
Hi @Edward-Violet-Dolphin#138476
This depends on your membership. With only a Travel Card membership it's not possible. Direct Debits are included with the Premium, Joint and Business memberships.
Waarom accepteert Deutsche Bahn in de ICE nog steeds geen Bunq Travelcard?
@Praveen#140777 had je dit toevallig al aan DB gevraagd? 🙈
Can I use the Bunq card for an online reservation before having used it with pin? This is the first time I am using it and just booked a hotel, would like to know if that went right. The app said something about having to use the pin for the first time...
Hi 👋 @Sonita-Orange-Panda#140834
Yes you can immediately use the card online. All features like offline payments and contactless payments with the physical card will be activated after a payment with the chip in the terminal (or atm) and the PIN code.
@Tim#140835
Would you really recommend that as a card can't be blocked until it was not activated as a real card?
@Heiko-Hartwig#140838
Not sure if I understand you correctly but how are you going to use the physical card without the PIN?
I don't see any security issues by using the card online or in a mobile wallet.
Hi Bunq and everyone else.
I have to say that I am really unimpressed by this bogus card that Bunq sold to us as some sort of revolutionary card that will solve all of our travel mysteries.
After trying to use this card during my travels to Madeira and Mexico, I have to say it adds exactly zero value in comparison with the regular debit card.
It's not a traditional credit card as they claim but merely a fancy shiny debit card that does exactly the same thing as the debit card and nothing else.
If you go rent a car like I did in Madeira and Mexico, you need to leave a deposit that can sometimes be as high as €1,500. If you had a credit card with a spending limit of €2.000 for example, you could put this deposit on your credit card and continue using your bank balance for your holidays expenses. With this travel card, however, as is explained in the fine print, you need to have the entire amount in your bank balance at the time and it will be frozen for the duration of your rental, meaning you won't be able to spend this money otherwise.
You're better off getting yourself an Amex and just using this card for your travel needs than falling for this glorified debit card. I think it's a joke.
@Alexander-Teal-Akita-3730527442#141060 that's exactly what you signed up for right..? 🤷♂️ The creditcard is recognised as creditcard but you cannot get in the situation where you have a debt, as it functions like a debit card for the customer. If that's not what you need then you simply purchased the wrong product I guess? Calling this product a joke based on that is not really fair, people have different needs, and different products fit those different needs. 😁
@Alexander-Teal-Akita-3730527442#141060 You can just add a few thousands more than your travel budget to the card and the problem is completely alleviated. And other than regular credit cards where you need to ask for a larger spending limit, here you can just put more money on it and that's basically your limit. So you can even make very large purchases north of 10k without troubles. I think this is actually pretty convenient.
@Alexander-Teal-Akita-3730527442#141060 I agree with you. I too think bunq over glorifies the travel and green cards. They basically do the same as the rest of their cards. I see no advantage in having one of these “glorified” mastercards that are nothing but debit cards.
I generally agree with bungs philosophy of no debt but please bunq, quit the exaggerated praises of these credit cards.
I do understand though your frustrations of physically having to have your account covered for a deposit. But that’s just not how bunq works.
