I want to transfer a larger amount of money from a Australian account into this bunq account. What are the costs/exchange rates? And how long will it take?

@Dennis-Purple-Llama-3871300781#97557 from bunq's side none as long as you make a sepa transfer. bunq doesn't have any exchange service, so your sending bank needs to do the conversion or you need to find a third party for that. Anything that arrives at bunq that is not Euro will be bounced back automatically.
In case you make a Swift transfer then you should keep the minimum fee of €5 in mind (it's higher for higher amounts). Those transfers are processed manually so I would discourage that. See this topic on processing times. 🙂

1-) ouvrir un compte australien chez transferwise virer l'argent sur ce compte
2-) chez transferwise changer les dollars en euro sur compte euro puis virement sepa vers bunq
frais = justes quelques dollars
In English please!!!🤙🏼
@Dennis-Purple-Llama-3871300781#97562
1-) open an Australian account at transferwise and transfer the money to this account
2-) at transferwise change the dollars into euros on euro account then transfer sepa to bunq
costs = just a few dollars
excuse bad english
@Dennis-Purple-Llama-3871300781#97562 Tip: every topic has a translate button. :)
@BigBoss#97563 So where do I open this transferwise account?🤔 Here at bunq???🤷♂️
Thanks Peter.
@Dennis-Purple-Llama-3871300781#97569
open an Australian account and euro account at transferwise https://transferwise.com
@BigBoss#97571 Thanks buddy!🤙🏼
Let's check Western Union: For 1000 EUR you send from germany to australia you only get around 1556 AUD which is around 962€. Plus 3€ transfer costs. So its around 35€ with WU.
Transferwise: Only 6€ costs with their cheapest option, you will get 1610 AUD for 1000€.
Of course, you want to exchange AUD in EUR, but.. choose Transferwise instead of Western Union. :)
@Arcardy#97612 🤔I was wondering why you started talking about Euros to AUS-dollars why I clearly stated the other way around...🤷♂️ Is Transferwise a free account/option to set up & do exchanges???
Thanks for the feed-back!🙏🏼
@Dennis-Purple-Llama-3871300781#97645 You can find more info on TransferWise (including the fees etc)with at their website https://TransferWise.com 🙂
@Sander#97649 😊I got that but you have to open an account with them first I assume and I wonder if there's any costs involved just having one...?
@Dennis-Purple-Llama-3871300781#97645 Hey Dennis!
To make it simple RE fees etc, you can just go to Transferwise.com, and choose that you want to transfer X AUD to euros.
It will tell you the rate and fees.
Then you can just run through their steps to complete the transfer process.
For the recipient, use your bunq IBAN which you can find in your account.
Depending on how you send the money to Transferwise, it’ll take somewhere between a few minutes and 1-2 business days.

@Tom#97653 Cool thanks Tom, so there is no need to open some account with transferwise, it's just a transfer service online using bank details from one account to the other?🤔 I'm confused...
@Tom#97653
C'est moins cher si l'on a un compte multidevise chez eux
Mais ce n'est pas une banque donc c'est mieux d'utiliser bunq pour gérer son argent
@Dennis-Purple-Llama-3871300781#97656 They are primarily an online money transfer service.
While you can open accounts and store money with them, for what you’re doing that’s more complicated.
You can just use them to transfer the money, and it will land in your bunq account ready to use 🌈
@BigBoss#97655 Thanks Boss but what is a SEPA transfer? I'm new in Europe and I've never used or heard about this in AUS. I simply want to transfer a larger amount of Aussie dollars into an account in The Netherlands which only accepts Euros so I need to find a good and affordable way to do this not loosing an arm and a leg doing so... Cheers,🤙🏼
